Our Working Tables

The SCFC’s Working Tables are collaborative groups that bring together community members, partners, and stakeholders to address key areas of our local food system. Each table focuses on a specific theme, meeting regularly to share knowledge, coordinate efforts, and drive positive change. Together, these tables help advance our mission of building a healthy, accessible, and sustainable food system for all.

Meet The Team

The Stewardship Group meets monthly to provide guidance, oversight, and strategic direction for the council’s initiatives. This group ensures that our activities align with our mission and values, supporting the overall effectiveness and sustainability of our work.

The School Food Working Table meets monthly to focus on improving food access and programs in our schools. Members collaborate on projects and advocacy to ensure that all students have access to healthy, nourishing food throughout the school day.

The Food Access Working Table works to identify and address barriers to food access in our community. The group meets monthly and supports initiatives that increase the availability and affordability of healthy food for everyone.

The Fundraising & Communications Working Table meets monthly to coordinate fundraising efforts and communications strategies, working to secure resources and raise awareness about our programs.

The Food Skills & Education Working Table meets every other month and focuses on building food skills that empower people with the knowledge and confidence to grow, prepare, and enjoy healthy food.

The Food Systems Working Table brings together stakeholders to discuss and advance broader food systems issues, such as policy, sustainability, and community resilience.
